DE LIJN TO EXTEND BY 800KM
[LOG: Brussels, April 21]
The Belgian De Lijn public transport company is going to start up a number of new tram and train services next year throughout Flanders to combat traffic problems. There will be 17 new rapid trams, 16 new lines for light trains on existing rails, and nine Euregional tram links and three railway lines. In total it’s around 800 new kilometers. In the first instance it will be looking at the Amsterdam–Ghent–Brussels triangle, but there will also be investments in the coast.
