ADAC AIR RESCUE

[INFRA: Munich/Aachen, January 22]
ADAC, the German Automobile Club’s air rescue service, and the authority for public safety and disaster rescues have noted that there is an increase in the use of the emergency helicopter services. The 44 ADAC choppers had to take off more than 42,200 times last year, which means 2,700 more emergency flights than in 2006.

The ‘Yellow Angels’ are flying 116 missions daily and looking after 36,500 patients. One of the reasons for this increase is the increase in the number of life-threatening cardiovascular problems in the winter of 2006/2007, with a mild winter and a warm spring. Berlin and Bayreuth flew the most missions, Aachen was third with 1,710.
