LYRECO EDC IN VOTTEM

With headquarters in France, Lyreco, among the leading worldwide businesses focusing on office supplies, has stated its intention to centralize its logistical activities for the Benelux countries in an ultra modern distribution center in Vottem near Liège. Since the takeover of Ahrend at the end of 2005, Lyreco been running distribution from three DCs in Zele and Vottem in Belgium and Nieuwegein in The Netherlands.

The planned centralization of its logistical operation will raise Lyreco’s service to a higher level and accelerate and support future growth. The most important role in this is played by Lyreco’s staff. Lyreco will be offering its entire staff new jobs within the company in order to maintain the knowledge and organization base that it has built up.

The announcement is being made now to accelerate the process. The completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2008

Since it was founded in 1926, the Lyreco Group has continued to grow both organically and by acquisitions. It’s active in 28 countries with a staff of almost 10,000 and its consolidated revenues reached EUR 1.785bn in 2005.
