[LEI/INFRA: Liège, July 26]
In 2014, the well-known arcade, Le Passage Lemonnier, will celebrate its 175th anniversary, in Liège. It was proposed in 1836 and constructed between 1837 and 1838 and opened in 1839.

Since then it’s always been there, even if between 1934 and 1937 there were some major changes. The publishers Noir Dessin Production produced a first book in 2010 on the history of this arcade—which is the oldest of its sort in Belgium— under the authorship of Olivier Hamal and Jean Jour.

For 2014, Olivier Hamal and Jacqueline Remits are preparing a new book, which will be far more complete than the first and will take account of the large amount of information in unedited documents that have been found between times. It will be interesting also to read about the life and the succession of businesses since 1839, and also the various facts and anecdotes linking Le Passage Lemonnier and its direct environment.

The book will cost EUR 40 and the first run will be limited to 1,000 copies. Check the following address. SC du Passage LEMONNIER, Place de BRONCKART, 1 à 4000 LIEGE. GSM 0475/36.09.17
