BIKING IN LIMBURG

In order to make Belgian and The Netherlands Limburg attractive as a vacation destination, both provinces have decided to work together on a project basis. One of the projects is cycling (or biking) in Limburg. This project can expect a subsidy of EUR 125,140 from the Province. The object of the project is to develop longer stay cycling holidays in the provinces and to market them using cross-border, theme-based cycling routes and accommodation options.

Currently the themes chosen are cycling along rivers and canals (and in them), past castles, gardens and vineyards, observing Limburg traditions and usage, and looking at fashion, art and design — which covers most of the province’s assets. Thirty overnight-stay arrangements have also been organized and there will be a contribution from the Benelux central area Euroregion of EUR 78,000.
