POLICE PARTNERSHIPS
[GOV: Liège, February 25]
The police of the province of Liège have signed a partnership agreement with their Dutch colleagues in Hahn, close to Trèves (Trier) in the Rhineland Palatinate 200km from Liège. This partnership provides for visits, the exchange of trainees and students, and the introduction of communal projects and communal training sessions, but the wish of both parties is that the future police trained by them should have contact with their future colleagues. ‘Crime doesn’t recognize frontiers’, says Klaus-Jorg Weidmann, director of the police school in Hahn. ‘Our young graduates will be much better equipped to work on the frontiers and they will be prepared to cooperate with their colleagues.’
