EUR 1.1BN FOR LIMBURG

The Province of Limburg has today formally transferred its shares in the power utility Essent to the German power company RWE. In return, the province will receive EUR 1.1bn, this week. For the time being, the province retains its shares in Essent Milieu and those in the nuclear power plant at Borssele. The network division Enexis had already been split off from Essent and the province remains a shareholder in Enexis.
