TOP STORIES
[EDIT: Eijsden, June 15]
Remembering that today is father’s day and the anniversary of the Magna Charta (1215), we can carry on to reality and to Meuse-Rhine, which is dominated by the Interreg IV European funding story. The Meuse-Rhine statistics story is also important. It is good too, to note that a Dutch version of the Nobel Prize, the Spinoza Prize, has gone to Professor Joep Leerssen for his work on ‘cultural nationalism’ and gratifying to recall that Meuse-Rhine, his native soil, will have inspired him in this direction. On the innovative side of business, DuraCar, from Avantis, has won a prize and Skechers, at Liège Airport, is expanding its EDC capacities. Chemelot, the new science and innovation campus, is also being made safe by Z-Safety from Bilzen; and, in NRW, a giant biotech combine is taking shape.
