SHOPPING IN MAASTRICHT
[BIZ: Maastricht, July 16] The city regards top brands as being good for the economy. In addition to the well-known Stokstraat quarter, another area was selected for these top brands and this is the Percée in Wyck. Wyck will continue to develop. Luc Hennard, the Director General of Hermès expects a great deal of Maastricht as a shopping city. He said Hermès was happy to be part of this interesting and ambitious project in the city, a city at the crossroads of three countries. He also mentioned the cooperation with the jewelers Leon Martens. The area also draws its style from the Hotel Beaumont, also represented at the meeting. The Paul Smith label is to be adopted by Philippe & Deborah Maassen for their Mayfair store. It all seems to point to a stylish future for Maastricht.
Hermès is opening in the first half of 2011 on the Percée in Wyck, Maastricht, and is to be linked to Martens, the jewelers. Another internationally distinguished brand, Paul Smith, will start in 2011 in Wyck, and talks are ongoing with Rolex, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
