BELGACOM WITH LAMPIRIS

The telecom operator Belgacom is considering an alliance with the green power company in Liège, Lampiris, according to La Soir. Lampiris, which has just become independent, is not likely to hand over control to Belgacom but Belgacom would resell Lampiris green power. Lampiris has a very small share of the Flemish market where its electricity and gas is taken by large companies. It wouldn’t be the first power company to be involved with a telecom in Belgium because Euphony Benelux buys large amounts of electricity and gas from Luminus and resells it. In the United States Google also has a license for the electricity market.
