THE UR-PIG IS BACK

After ten years of breeding the exclusive Wagyu beef cattle, Altembrouck’s livestock has been extended by the Mangalitsa pig from Hungary. This is a perfect complement to the Wagyu because the Mangalitsa provides the best pork in the world. Mangalitsa is a breed of pig bred in Hungary and the Balkans, in particular, and is known as the ‘curly-hair hog’. It belongs to the unimproved lard-type breeds, which include the Iberian Black and the Alentejana pigs, which are descended directly from wild boar populations.
