EPIQ MAKES UP FOR LOSS
[BIZ: Hasselt, February 23] Epiq is optimistic about the future, particularly in respect of its plans for China and the United States.
The Limburg electronics group Epiq has achieved net profits of EUR 3.1m in the past year; this is as much as the year before. Revenues dropped by 16% to EUR 164.4m. The fall is largely to do with the crisis in the automotive sector, in which Epiq, with its sensors and other electronics, is an important supplier. The loss in turnover was, according to the company, more than made up for by the reduction in costs that were introduced more than a year ago, and staff was cut by 20%. Changes were also made for a factory in France targeting industrial clients in the automotive sector.
