LIMELIGHT IN HASSELT

There is an application out for the construction of a film studio called ‘Limelight’ in Hasselt to be operational in 2011. Three years after the first announcement that the Hasselt research campus’s film studios were to be built, the city has received an application for a building permit that is no longer signed by the Antwerp film producer Corsan (See Issue 142), but by Limelight Film Studios, which is a new company in which — in addition to a limited role for Corsan — the construction group Cordale will be one of the most important parties. The manager, Paul Ivens, wants to start building in 2010 and have the first productions on the road in Hasselt in 2011. The project will remain as it was planned, with two large and two smaller studios and use will also be made of the existing Leoni building and the rest will be built onto this.
