FORD’S WINDMILLS

Ford Genk has set up Electrabel windmills on its location in Genk. Electrabel started constructed the two windmills, which produce a total of four megawatts in electricity, the same as the power used by 2,000 families, and represents an investment of EUR 7m. For Ford Genk the installation of the windmills means a saving of four to five percent on the use of current. The turbines remain the property of Electrabel and the investment will be earned back within six to seven years. This is part of the project to reduce emissions.
