FORUMINVEST IN VERVIERS

After being turned down three times because of popular opposition, the Dutch ForumInvest organization has now received permission to build a new shopping center in Verviers. The Dutch developer wants to expand the A1 shopping area in the town center with the support of the local authorities, through a project with a water theme, whose intention is to restore Verviers' former glory. This will include a total surface area of 30,000 m² and 1350 parking spaces. The municipality has given the green light and the Walloon region is not expected to cause problems. A Van der Valk, Hotel Verviers also recently opened in the city. The plan has been discussed since 2002 and it has its own website, Au fil de l’eau.
