LIONS CROSSING BORDERS

There was a meeting hosted by two Lions clubs, the Euregio Maas Rhein and the Aachen-Carolus Magnus, at the World Trade Center on the cross-border science and business park, Avantis, between Heerlen and Aachen. The speakers included Odile Wolfs of the province of Limburg and Armin Laschet of the state of North-Rhine Westaphalia. A topic of concern was attracting young people to Meuse-Rhine and its cities. In addition to the two ministers, Jürgen Drewes, the director of the Chamber of Commerce in Aachen, and Petra Müller of the FDP in Aachen were present.

The principle concern of the evening was how to add magnetism to the area.
