WATERSCHEI BUSINESS PARK

There is a lot of construction going on in Belgian Limburg. One of the major construction companies is the Kumpen Company from Hasselt. It employs 409 and last year had revenues of EUR 88m. It has 190 trucks on the road. They are currently working on the old mine site at Waterschei and are going to build a high quality business park and science park at that site. They are also building a production plant for Lauro Coal, part of the Machiels Group, of 25,000m2 at the old coal harbor of Beringen.
