[BIZ: Beringen, September 22] There will be the strongest standards for hygiene. Other partners in the project will be Perfecta with fried goods and Ocean Foods for fish and seafood specialties. The Von Zon group was set up in 1979 by Pierre Von Zon and in the meantime has been taken over by his daughter, Marion. The group employs 95 and achieved revenues of EUR 48m last year.
The Von Zon group from Hamont-Achel is going to expand its premises in Beringen with a purchasing center for the catering trade. It’s doing this with a number of partners, and together they’re investing EUR 4.5m, which represents another 20 jobs. The existing area for the Von Zon wholesale operation is 2,400m2 and it will be expanded to 7,400m2. It will also include the brothers Eric and Luc Carmans, who have a butcher’s in Beringen, as they were also looking for new space. The butcher/ caterer Carmans will provide all sorts of pre-packed meats and various types of advice.
