FLORIADE 2012

The Province of Limburg is starting its call for tenders for the Innovacomplex at the 2012 Floriade - World Garden Fair. This was announced by Deputy Ger Driessen, on behalf of the provincial government. The Innovacomplex will have two parts: an office tower about 70m in height that will be the landmark for the Floriade exhibition with a gross surface area of around 6,000m2 over 12 floors and with a roof terrace.

The office building, which will set its seal on the project, will be primarily made of glass. There will be an atrium with a gross surface area of 2,000 square meters which will include the reception, access, a press conference room and services for the Floriade. The atrium will also be transparent. There will be a hotel next to the Innovacomplex that is in the hands of the hotel branch, for which the province has taken responsibility.

As it falls outside of the regular call for tenders, with the completion date for the project of January 1, 2012. The decision on the call for tenders requires a definitive go-ahead, but at the beginning of 2010, tenders on the basis of a specified tendering procedure will allow decisions to be taken.
