VAN AARSEN EXPORT AWARD

Van Aarsen International BV from Panheel has become the winner of the Limburg Export Award for 2009. Wier Minerals from Venlo was second and Rimas Systems from Beringen was third.

The award was made for the fourth time, this time by Deputy Jos Hessels of the province of Limburg. This took place on an L1 TV program at Hauzer Techno Coating in Venlo, which won last year. The award brings with it a prize of EUR 10,000 and a piece of sculpture by the Roermond artist, Dick van Wijk. Second and third place receive a check worth EUR 500 for participation and a foreign business trip.

Van Aarsen International from Panheel has developed from a small-scale milling company to a global supplier of cattle feed installations. The jury was very much under the influence of the rapid international expansion and of the customer-focus of the company.

Van Aarsen supplies 20 European and 16 non-European customers, including those in South America and the Middle East. More than 75% of the revenue of EUR 32m in 2008 was achieved abroad. Around two hundred people work for Van Aarsen, 145 in the Netherlands and 60 in Slovakia.
