GENK GOES GAMING

C-Mine, the old mining site at the Winterslag in Genk, is turning its main building into a new headquarters for gamers and creative business. The project requires an investment of EUR 5.6m, but can expect the support of the LSM foundation, Limburger Strong Brand, the Flemish government and the European Union. Wim Dries, a councilor on local business from Genk, noted that the gaming sector in Flanders has been thus far rather underdeveloped. With the construction of the new gaming center, Mr Dries wants to put Genk center stage. The new center for creative business innovation has meeting rooms, demonstration areas, and space for new businesses, particularly intended for starters in the gaming sector and other creative sectors.
