FRAUENRATH MAKES LAKE PHOENIX

Frauenrath, the Heinsberg-based engineering group, is going to restore Lake Phoenix in Dortmund Hörde. The total operation involves the EUR 27.2m project, of which Frauenrath’s activities will be worth EUR 18m and will involve hydraulic and geotechnical engineering operations around Lake Phoenix. The period of activity has been scheduled from April 2009 to May 2011. It involves moving 270,000m3 of soil, 140,000 tons of rock and stones, 100,000 tons of sand and gravel, and stabilizing 50,000m3 of ground, 50,000m2 of roads and 4,000m of rainwater canals and pipes. This is the largest project in Frauenrath’s 110-year history.
