AACHEN’S SOLAR POTENTIAL
[BIZ: Aachen, March 25] In respect of solar-powered water heating, the number of applications in Heinsberg, Düren, Aachen and Euskirchen, at 163, is almost a quarter of the applications in NRW. And this year it’s still possible to apply for support. The state government wants to increase investment from EUR 12m to EUR 20m. There will be support for passive houses and for buildings that have three or more housing units. The support options make investment in environment-friendly power and heat generation economically attractive. The altbauplus organization can provide further information and can reached at the site below:
579 solar cell installations have been placed in Aachen in the context of the ‘Progress NRW’ program. This is 75% of all the development applications in North-West Westphalia (NRW), according to Dr Maria Vankann, the head of the association ‘altbauplus’ in which the city of Aachen participates. The high number of development projects was made possible by the city’s development program ‘EuRegionale 2008’. In this context not only passive houses and institutional buildings like kindergartens and schools, but also single-family and two-family housing will be able to receive support.
