MAASTRICHT IN CRISIS?

Over the years, it has become a tradition for Maastricht Convention Bureau (MCB), with its partners, to play a major role at the European Meeting Industry Fair (EMIF) in Brussels. This was the case this year too on March 18 and 19. During the EMIF, it turned out Maastricht & surrounding area were benefiting from the crisis as a destination for business meetings!

EMIF is the Belgian trade show for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events, and is attended mainly by Belgian meeting planners. Maastricht always has been an attractive destination for its southern neighbors, but since the crisis, people want to meet close to home, which makes Maastricht & surrounding area even more attractive. Add to this the eco-friendly high-speed train connection between Maastricht and Brussels, and one simply cannot avoid Maastricht & surrounding area, according to the company. The Maastricht brand was everywhere.
