3D STEREO MEDIA 2009
[BIZ/SCI-TECH/LEI: Liège, March 17] An ‘International 3D Film Festival’ will be held at the Palais des congrès in Liège from December 1 through 3 2009 and will target professionals and European experts in image technology and all of its applications — cinema, TV, life sciences, science in general, technology, games — by presenting an original program of 3D films to the general public. Ben Stassen, who produced the first globally recognized 3D stereo cartoon film ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ and the co-founder of nWaves, will be the Hon President of the event. Developments in this industry are leading to a technological revolution which allows the visualization of stereo 3D images on televisions, computer screens, publicity displays and mobile phones, and Belgium is one of the European leaders in the industry. Key players in the exhibition are companies including XDC SA, a subsidiary of EVSSA in Liège, Victor Studio, nWave Pictures, Neuro TV, Eureka, X Bo in Wallonia and Brussels, XpanD (Slovenia), Philips (The Netherlands) and Alioscopy (France). E-mage is concerned with the development of everything connected with digital imagery, including: acquisition, treatment, synthesis, diffusion and visualization of all types of image and video and other related vectors: sound, graphics and text. The TWIST cluster is concerned with image and text technology and sound in the Walloon region. Check the website for details.
