WATERMILL POWER

The municipality of Valkenburg is going to reactivate the old watermill on the Geul River to generate electricity. A test revealed that three of the five watermills in Valkenburg are able to produce green power. The starting date is not yet certain, as the municipality has also considered windmills, but the feeling is that these would not fit into Valkenburg’s landscape.
