LIEGE GIS FOR SCHAERBEEK

[BIZ: Liège, February 18]
Following a competitive tendering process STAR-APIC has been selected to provide GIS technology by the Commune of Schaerbeek, a community near Brussels of more than 100,000 inhabitants. Schaerbeek wanted to implement a complete new GIS on workstations, the Internet/Intranet, and on mobile platforms. The project is worth approximately EUR 50,000 and is important to the community in improving the efficiency of its services. A key task is to integrate a range of datasets into a single consistent Geographic Information System. Decision-makers in the community have selected the STAR-APIC local authority solutions to provide the necessary functionality. Both teams, from STAR-APIC and the Commune of Schaerbeek, are enthusiastic and motivated. This new reference and the interest shown by many Local Authorities at the recent ‘Salon des Mandataires’ in Belgium, confirm the success of STAR-APIC Group in public administration.

With more than 25 years experience and five international offices in Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Morocco and the Czech Republic, the STAR-APIC Group has become one of the major suppliers of Geographic Information System software for network management (water, electricity, telecom, data centers), local authorities, national government and national mapping agencies.. By emphasizing the importance of sharing and enhancing the quality of spatial data, STAR-APIC teams have been successful in implementing large-scale GIS projects.
