In terms of business and trade, the logistical sector, with 30%, played a strong role, and it is interesting to note that 64% of the lots were a maximum of 5km from the nearest highway. The business park monitoring system, using geographical information systems, is proving very useful in the Aachen region. In the last five years, in the region, as a whole, 377 lots with a total surface area of 253 hectares have been let. This can be broken down into 30% for the district of Heinsberg, around 21% for the districts of Aachen and Düren, and 11% to the district of Euskirchen and the city of Aachen respectively.
