WORLD PASTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

On August 31 and September 1 the fourth edition of the Amoretti Pastry Championship will take place in Nashville, Tennessee. Jean-Philippe Darcis, of Verviers and Liège, will be part of the Belgian team with Serge Alexandre and Marc Ducobu. They are sponsored by the Callebaut chocolate company. Over a period of 13 hours spread over two day, each team will prepare a chocolate creation, a sugar creation and all sorts of other delicious things. The prize is worth USD 100,000. There are twelve teams, each with three chef pâtissiers and each year a Belgian team takes part. Keep an eye out for this.
