LIGHT FANTASTIC
[BIZ: Aachen, June 20] NeuroLED is an intelligent lighting element which can be assembled into a networking system and the three color zones can generate any color or brightness and are controlled by an internal computer which can memorize and display a range of lighting sequences. The system is controlled by software written in Java and that it can be altered to respond in different ways via toggle switches or wall-mounted touch panels. There are three magnetic buttons which allow them to be placed on a metal plate. They can be controlled by a handheld beamer and can even be used for games. There is a network facility using WLAN. The spectacular effect is on large surfaces, in shopping malls, airports, hotel lobbies, where they will impress the public.
Cosinova is a company in Aachen that produces luminous building elements - the neuroLED intelligent lighting solutions - which will be starting serial production in Aachen in October. The company attracted a great deal of attention at the light and building fair in Frankfurt, where they set-up a wall of several square meters made of dozens of these lighting elements. The elements can simply provide light to a room or they can provide movement or reflection. Each module or light is a little computer. They are sometimes used for advertising messages and provide an unending variety of variations of light and color in a structure.
