BIOSTAR EDC VENLO
[BIZ/LOG: Maastricht, June 13] Mart Dijk, Director Far East at LIOF says, “Biostar has chosen Venlo because of its central location and excellent access, but also because of the salary levels and tax climate. Companies pay 25.5 per cent company tax here, which is highly competitive when compared with other European countries. Wage costs are also lower in The Netherlands, than they are in Belgium and Germany. This has led to more foreign companies deciding to locate in Limburg.” Biostar is a global operator, with its head office in Taipei and a production facility in China. It has sales outlets in the US, China, the UK and Germany. It employs 2,300 and its revenues were EUR 175m in 2006. For further information check the website.
LIOF, the Limburg development company, has announced that Biostar, the Taiwan-based motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, supporting Intel and AMD processors has opened a distribution center in Venlo. The company will be supplying Germany and the rest of Europe from Tradeport West in Venlo. Within two years the company should employ 30.
