Z-SAFETY AT CHEMELOT
[BIZ: Geleen, June 6] During the preparatory and implementation stages of a shutdown, safety staff from Z-Safety acts as a point of contact with regard to crucial aspects of safety. A considerable proportion of the chemicals cluster on the Chemelot site takes the form of service providers that contribute to the activities of the individual companies themselves and Z-Safety undoubtedly belongs to this segment. As Ger Wagemans, the Managing Director of Chemelot explains, “Z-Safety is a professional organization with an excellent reputation and not only will the arrival of the company on the Chemelot site enhance the safety of those working in the individual plants on the site, but it will also provide additional employment opportunities.” Z-Safety Z-Safety acts as a central point of contact for industrial companies and service providers in relation to the organization and implementation of all aspects of safety in a variety of situations, including during shutdowns of plants or factories. In order to provide these services, Z-Safety makes use of on-site safety staff. These include environmental monitors, department monitors, coordinators, cable monitors, fire safety monitors, safety experts and safety-related project teams. In order to provide a maximum degree of safety, the company provides its staff with specialist safety equipment, such as gas detectors, respiratory protection, fall protection, chemical protection suits, communications systems and breathing apparatus. Z-Safety has opened an operational coordination center at Chemelot in Geleen. From the center, it will provide safety services to the industrial companies and service providers on site. The services of Z-Safety will be used during major maintenance work upon the factories or plants, as well as during ordinary work being carried out on the Chemelot site.
