WIERTZ NEW HEAD OFFICE
[BIZ: Kerkrade, March 18] Wiertz has 12 branches in Limburg and two in Germany and is one of the larger Limburg employers. It sends 2,000 temporary staff out every day and these people are employed for longer or shorter periods with 500 Limburg companies and institutions. The head office is currently at the European Business Center in Kerkrade (EBC) which is currently too small for the operation. The German branch of Wiertz will remain in the EBC building but it is not adequate for the whole organization. In the coming months, there will be some rebuilding at the new office, where 20 people will work. There will be no temporary employment organization there, but the supporting services of financial administration, sales support, human resources and the management. The organization is also going to set-up a training and reception area and there will be a call center to meet the requirements of Limburg clients. Wiertz expects the building to be ready at the beginning of 2009.
Wiertz, the staffing organization, has come to an agreement with the municipality of Kerkrade for the purchase of the former police station on the Poststraat. This building recently fell vacant. It was a police station since 1981 and the building dates from 1929.
