MIPIM & MAMAC

The 19th MIPIM Real Estate Fair, at Cannes, put Liège center stage. The idea was to encourage investors and to add value to the city’s potential. The Liégeois offered a lunch to the world at the Hotel Martinez. Among the projects discussed at MIPIM were the new TGV station and the redevelopment of the station area, the media city development in Longdoz and developments at the MAMAC (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) in the Bouverie Park.

The renovation of the museum represents an investment of EUR 35m including 15m from Europe’s EFRD program. This project involves a complete renovation of the building, the creation of mezzanines and an enlargement at the back of the building. There will also be a glass dome, the height of the first storey, on the Meuse-side. The MAMAC project is scheduled for completion in 2015.
