ELECTRABEL NUCLEAR TO SPE

Electrabel is going to surrender a part of Belgium’s nuclear energy capacity to SPE. This was part of an agreement in principle among the parties. It relates to a capacity of 635MW. The transfer is intended to strengthen the position of SPE on the Belgian market and improve competition in the electric power sector. It’s a consequence of the agreements made by Suez at the end of 2006, following its merger with Gaz de France to the Belgian government.
