TRIANEL OFFSHORE WIND PARK
[BIZ: Aachen, January 22] The wind park will have 80 turbines with a capacity of 5MW each and the power will be fed under the sea by cable via the island of Norderney into the network of E.ON. The total investment for this project is around EUR 1bn. The wind park is engineered by PROKON Nord Energiesysteme GmbH and the project will be supplying power by the end of 2010 and the project completed in 2011.
The Meuse-Rhine Trianel Group is expanding its production portfolio with its City power works. On the wind energy front, 40 of its partners are working on the development of the Borkum-West II offshore wind park. Trianel and its partners are pursuing an objective of diversifying and increasing the share of power without a carbon footprint. The location of the plant is in the North Sea, 45km north of the island of Borkum. This type of location in the North Sea is regarded as ideal for the wind park solution.
