LIOF ACCELERATES
[BIZ: Maastricht, December 20] A development fund of EUR 20m has been established to finance high risk development and innovative projects. The LIOF team will be headed By Henk Hoogervoorst, with a tem of 4, who will also be head of development at LIOF. The official go-ahead for this program comes on January 25, 2008 when the Province’s budget is debated. The Province also retains overall responsibility for the program.
Limburg’s Acceleration Agenda planning and implementation office is moving to LIOF, the province’s development company. The team’s focus is on regional economic development for specific innovative, industrial/business clusters. Examples of these can be seen in the Meuse-Rhine Journal’s webcast links in the navigation column. The areas of interest are analogous to those chosen as ‘competitive clusters’ by the Walloon Region and to a lesser extent to those of the Jülich Research Centre.
