QUALITY SCIENCE PARKS

‘A world-wide first’ : the signing of the Quality Charter of the Science Parks of Wallonia is an original initiative launched by the six member parks of the SPoW, which undertake to strictly respect stringent and quantified quality criteria.

The first of its kind in the world, the Walloon initiative is recognized by the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), whose Managing Director, Luis SANZ attended the official signing.

The Quality Charter drawn up by the Science Parks of Walloon will be a reference model for science parks throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

SPOW (Science parks of Wallonia):

The SPoW network is entrusted with:

- The promotion and international visibility of the Science Parks of Walloon ;
- The technological development and networking of the competencies within Walloon;
- Positioning, with the aim of obtaining recognition for the science parks as a driving force behind innovation.

Together, the Science Parks of Walloon today host on 693 hectares (570 in 2003), 482 enterprises (341 in 2003), including 73 university spin-offs (35 in 2003), accounting for 11,400 jobs in Walloon (9,182 in 2003).
