BAOSTEEL SIGNS WITH PARSYTEC
[BIZ: Aachen December 2] The Surface Inspection System Cooperation Project between Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd and Parsytec emerged from Baosteel’s high demands for product quality improvement as well as for reinforce market competency. The steel manufacturer’s market is highly competitive and thus calls for surface inspection and quality yield management as decisive key factors. The cooperation contract highlights cooperation of software aspects, from defect recognition to yield management applications. The first SIS project involves the installation, integration, customization and maintenance of Parsytec’s surface inspection systems espresso SI as well as the respective software in Baosteel’s cold rolling mills. The pickling line #2030 will be equipped with an inspection system encompassing digital GigE cameras in a bright dark-field sensor configuration. Besides excellent references within Baosteel itself, Parsytec’s state-of-the-art inspection solution with reliably high detection and classification rates is the decisive factor for entering this project. This surface inspection system is the first of 9 more systems to be installed within the scope of this project.
Parsytec AG — the world’s leading supplier of surface and web inspection systems for strip products — closed a cooperation contract with Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation in November. This agreement comes with the first order for espresso SI at a pickling line, in Shanghai, and an option for nine additional systems.
