Pro 8 - Lebensqualität für Menschen GmbH, from Erkelenz, [Quality of Life for people] in the start-up category. The company designs a unique living space in the shape of a figure of 8 to assist patients suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. This structure provides maximum freedom of movement for these patients who feel compelled to move around.

GIF - Gesellschaft für Industrieforschung mbH, in Alsdorf, [Industrial Research Company] in the growth category. It is expected to take on between 500 nd 1000 more people for its automotive transmission business with special reference to its Cone Ring Transmission - KRG transmission system -A continuously variable transmission for applications in front wheel and rear wheel drive arrangements with Multifunctional transmission, a simple design and low consumption. http://www.gif.net/
