[BIZ: Aachen/Frankfurt, November 23] MEDIAMESH® and ILLUMESH® make it possible to create a transparent media façade as an outer skin of a building. MEDIAMESH® allows the display of specific graphics, images and videos on transparent media façades – changeable and updateable at any time via Internet. GKD – Gebr. Kufferath AG, in cooperation with ag4 media facade GmbH, developed the stainless steel wire mesh with integrated LED technology, which won the German Steel Innovation Award 2006.
After the fascinating debut installations in France and Istanbul, GKD will be presenting two prototypes of the metal mesh systems MEDIAMESH® and ILLUMESH® at Material Vision 2007. This international trade fair for innovative materials in architecture and design took place from 22 to 23 November 2007 at the Forum Messe Frankfurt.
Following the MEDIAMESH® application 130 meters up on the roof of the headquarters of the Turkish pharmaceuticals company Abdi Ibrahim Pharmaceuticals in Istanbul, the first large scale ILLUMESH® façade has now been installed on an office building in France.
