EU CHECKS ON HEIDELBERG

The European Commission has asked the construction materials company, St. Gobain, for more information about its plans to take over the Heidelberg Cement subsidiary Maxit. Heidelberg Cement has operations in both Maastricht and Lixhe. The information thus far provided is not sufficient for a company that is in a billion-euro business, according to the European Commission. St Gobain and Heidelberg had agreed on a take over of Maxit in August.
