TESSENDERLO: FERRIC-CHLORIDE
[BIZ: Tessenderlo, November 16] Ferric-chloride is used mainly as a coagulant to produce drinking water and purify wastewater.
To meet the growing ferric-chloride market in Europe the Tessenderlo Group has decided to invest in its ferric-chloride production. Production capacity at Tessenderlo will be extended by 30,000 tons to a total capacity of 330,000 tons. In addition to this the flexibility of the ferric-chloride production units is being improved, enabling a switch among various raw materials so that full capacity is guaranteed. In this way the company is expecting to move to market leadership in ferric-chloride: it is currently number two. It has two production units for ferric-chloride: one in France, in Loos, and the other at Tessenderlo.
