WOOD POWER

[BIZ/INFRA: Amel-Kaiserbaracke, November 16]
On the 1.4 hectare site of the new Renogen biomass power station, in the extended business park at Amel-Kaiserbaracke, they are currently building a new source of power which will use waste wood. They have been generating power since February 2007 and now they are building a second production unit.

This ambitious Renogen project was the core of an innovative, exemplary circulation system for the primary and secondary processing of wood, and it is happening quickly. The infrastructural developments started in January 2006; a year later the firm went online and in the spring/summer of 2008 the second phase will be completed, according to the directors Yves Crits and Guido Schockaert, speaking to Grenz-Echo.

After completion, Renogen will supply 60,000-70,000 MWh and the annual production will equal 15,000 liters of oil.
