SPI+ LIEGE IN MEMPHIS

Laurence Slangen, of SPI+ Liège, recently travelled to Memphis, Tennessee, to speak about Liège as a home for U.S. businesses at a seminar about the European Union. Over 50 companies and their advisers attended the seminar. While in Memphis, Slangen also participated in a private night time tour of FedEx, whose global headquarters is in Memphis, arranged by one of FedEx's directors. And she had several one-on-one meetings with high-tech companies who have an interest in settling in Liège.

Since 2004, primarily through SPI+'s relationship with the Memphis Regional Chamber of Commerce, SPI+ has facilitated a developing partnership between the regions based primarily on each region's interest in bio logistics. Slangen's visit is expected to accelerate a formal relationship in the next few months.

The Memphis Regional Chamber is now committed to come to Liège in 2008, hopefully assisted in part by Global Consulting & Affiliates.
