SABIC WANTS MORE OF DSM

The Saudi company Sabic, which bought petrochemical plants from DSM a number of years ago, is now being mentioned as a potential purchaser of the DSM plant for urea, melamine and artificial fertilizer. The plants are related and match the Sabic product line. Sabic has had plans to build a large melamine plant for some time — laminate floors are also an application for melamine — and, with its market share of 25%, DSM is the melamine world market leader.
