NYRSTAR ACTIVE IN SYNERGIES

Nyrstar, which has collected the synch activities of Zinifex and Umicore, is thinking of synergies between Nyrstar Budel in The Netherlands and Umicore in Balen and they will ensure that not all of the formats are produced in each place but each place produces specific products. There is also an exchange of technology and information. There are also changes in the management among Nyrstar operations in Balen, Overpelt, Budel, Hobart (Tasmania), Auby (France) and Clarksville (USA). Nyrstar notes that this is not intended as a forerunner for the closure of operations in Budel or Balen and centralizing everything in one space. The two locations are scarcely 30km from one another.
