AXONE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
[BIZ: Aachen, October 2] The documentation is available in English and French, and in a relatively simplified English so it’s available for those for whom English is not a mother tongue. It is not only limited to military equipment, but is relevant to other types of equipment too, and has already been installed in selected NATO locations in Belgium, France, Germany and Italy. When the program is error-free it will be implemented in all NATO locations. AGIT is pleased to have them onboard.
Axone GmbH is a German branch of the French LGM company that was founded in 1991 in Paris. The company is located at the Aachen Technology Center at the Europaplatz and they are involved in a NATO project. They presented their project to the NATO partners before the summer break successfully and so the continuation of the project is assured, as is employment of further members of staff, according to the company’s local manager Yorgo Hernandez. Axone is drawing up a user handbook for Interactive Electronic Technical Documentation for the new NATO air traffic control system, ACCS that will replace a lot of national systems in the future. The handbook is only available in digital form; if it were to be on paper it would be far too large to handle. The production of technical documentation follows the internationally high standards of logistic support analysis, which was developed originally in the US in the 60s for military purposes. Important military standards have been developed on the basis of this and the technical editors at Axone have very strict and tight instructions.
