TRIANEL GAS STORAGE AT EPE

The filling of the first Trianel gas storage underground cavern started on October 1 at 06:00. This allowed Trianel Gas Storage Epe mbH & Co KG its next important step in the construction of communal gas storage in Epe. In the context of a strict program plan the required operating tests are being carried out, under the supervision of the authorities,. The tests and further operational activities will be carried out with the gas. It will take 2.5 months to fill the caverns and this should be completed by the end of the year. Underground, in three caverns, there is a working gas volume of more than a 128 million m3, which equals 1.5 billion kWh. The storage space is 300,000m3 per hour. The total storage performance goes to 150,000m3 per hour. The first cave will take 37 million cubic meters of gas and the gas will come from the RWE-Mitte network.
