OUTLANDER FOR NEDCAR
[BIZ: Tokyo, September 18] The decision to make the above changes was taken in order to ease the strain on production capacity at the Japanese plant, avoiding any lost sales opportunities in view of the strong sales of the Outlander in Europe, and of the Lancer on world markets. The company plans to produce the Outlander at its NedCar plant until the model reaches the end of its lifecycle.

It will be producing between 20,000 to 30,000 cars annually, on top of the 70,000 Mitsubishi Colts already produced there. This will certainly create employment but primarily for temporary staff.
